The 8-megapixel camera that’s actually a phone called the Samsung Pixon M8800 has just cleared the FCC, and from recently published documents, it has been revealed that it will be fitted with AT&T-compatible 850 and 1900 MHz WCDMA.

The Samsung Pixon M8800 was earlier rumored for a launch at T-Mobile, but it seems highly unlikely now that it’s got AT&T 3G specs to back it up upon entry to the U.S. Of course, it’s still got that darling large touchscreen display, GPS, accelerometer, FM radio with RDS and full-featured camera.

Knowing Samsung, the Pixon is probably going to be more or less just a souped up Samsung Omnia, with less of the smarts, and an even better camera than its 5 megapixel one, though you never know what other features its official carrier may slap on to it by its final release.
