Top 10 IGN Xbox 360 Stories of 2008

Ninja Gaiden II

Ninja Gaiden II
If, as many have said in the past, Ninja Gaiden on Xbox is the greatest action game ever
made, then Ninja Gaiden II on Xbox 360 is just a sequel. It won't redefine the way you look at action games. It won't make you cry tears of joy. Don't let that dissuade you. Sequels to such outstanding games often have difficulties living up to expectations and that may end up being the case for some with Ninja Gaiden II, but those that go in looking for some pure action will leave all smiles...and perhaps with a controller broken out of frustration or two

GTA IV

GTA IV
Grand Theft Auto IV is just a week away. To prep you for one of the most anticipated
games of all time, IGN is bringing you a week's worth of features. Liberty City is perhaps the most important element of GTA IV. Without the level of detail and the atmosphere of Liberty City, the rest of the game might not have been as great a success. So we begin our week of GTA coverage with a discussion with Rockstar North Art Director Aaron Garbut about the creation of Liberty City

Madden '09
We can talk till our face turns blue about the new features in Madden '09, waxing poetic
about online leagues, new player models, and the holographic John Madden that haunts us in our sleep, but there's one facet of information that Madden fans covet more than any other in the months before the game's release.

Fable II
What kind of hero will you be? This is the central theme of Fable II, Lionhead's
follow-up to its popular Xbox title. Will you be a selfish hero who hordes his money and looks for any opportunity to earn more, even if it means others would suffer? Or will you be a noble hero who gives to the poor and would sacrifice everything he owns to protect the innocent? How you answer these questions will affect how the world perceives you and determines the future of Albion

Fallout 3
Fallout 3 is a special videogame. It's an open-world role-playing game that delivers an
experience unlike anything on the market right now. It's a gripping and expansive showcase of how much depth and excitement can be packed into one videogame, and it does justice to the Fallout franchise. This sequel is the first made by Bethesda, the developers responsible for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. You don't need to play any of their past games or any previous Fallout games to enjoy this one. It stands on its own as a memorable and well-crafted videogame

Gears of War 2
The original Gears of War was about laying the foundation and setting the stage for a
massive struggle between man and monster. It introduced us to a planet named Sera and a band of warriors who will stop at nothing to preserve their people and make their home world safe yet again. Standing in their way are the Locust, a race of subterranean aliens hell bent on bringing down the Coalition of Ordered Governments and crippling the human race

The Top 25 Xbox 360 Games
Over the next two months, Xbox 360 looks to receive some of its greatest games to
date. Each week from October 14 right on through the first week of December, there will be a contender of games of the year. The debate over which of these upcoming games is best will be raging throughout the end of the year. Lost in this discussion will be all the great games that came before. While we await the deluge of new games, we decided to look back at what's already available on Xbox 360. Surely you are well aware of what is to come this holiday. But what about the great games already available, the ones that brought Xbox 360 to such a monumental holiday season?

Grand Theft Auto IV
Criminals are an ugly, cowardly lot more worthy of pity and disdain than admiration.
This is what you'll learn playing through the single-player campaign in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV. The series cheered (and criticized) for glorifying violence has taken an unexpected turn: it's gone legit. Oh sure, you'll still blow up cop cars, run down innocent civilians, bang hookers, assist drug dealers and lowlifes and do many, many other bad deeds, but at a cost to main character Niko Bellic's very soul. GTA IV gives us characters and a world with a level of depth previously unseen in gaming and elevates its story from a mere shoot-em-up to an Oscar-caliber drama. Every facet of Rockstar's new masterpiece is worthy of applause. Without question, Grand Theft Auto IV is the best game since Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
